​​​​​​​​Fresno Unified of​fers a Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program for eligible students in the elementary and secondary settings. Classroom instruction is provided by trained educators and designed to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of gifted students. Students are offered acceleration, enrichment and challenge through an instructional program based on state standards.  Our work is to support teachers as they provide all students with the knowledge and skills to prepare college and career ready graduates.

GATE Qualification

Students enrolled in Fresno Unified School District have opportunities to be assessed for the GATE program beginning in the fall semester, and are qualified as GATE based on criteria that includes scores on reasoning abilities, academic performance, and state tests in English language arts, math and reading.  Current sites offering GATE are:  Manchester GATE grades 2-6 and Yokomi grades 2-6.
